Newborns (First Hours After Birth)

Normal vital signs are Pulse 100-180 beats per minute, Respirations 30-60 breaths per minute, SPO2 85-95% is normal.

Newborns are commonly assessed using the APGAR scoring system.

Appearance (skin color)

Pulse Rate (heart rate)

Grimace (irritability)

Activity (muscle tone)

Respiratory effort

Each sign is assigned a score of 0, 1 or 2 and the assesment is done at 1 minute and 5 minutes after birth if the patient is breathing.

Neonates (Birth to 1 Month)

Normal vital signs are Pulse 100-180 beats per minute, Respirations 30-60 breaths per minute, SPO2 85-95% is normal.

Infants (1-5 Months)

Normal vital signs are Pulse 100-160 beats per minute, Respirations 30-60 breaths per minute, SPO2 85-95% is normal.

Infants (6-12 Months)

Normal vital signs are Pulse 100-180 beats per minute, Respirations 30-60 breaths per minute, SPO2 85-95% is normal.

Toddlers (1-3 Years)

Normal vital signs are Pulse 100-180 beats per minute, Respirations 30-60 breaths per minute, SPO2 85-95% is normal.

Preschoolers (3-5 Years)

Normal vital signs are Pulse 100-180 beats per minute, Respirations 30-60 breaths per minute, SPO2 85-95% is normal.

School-Age Children (6-12 Years)

Normal vital signs are Pulse 100-180 beats per minute, Respirations 30-60 breaths per minute, SPO2 85-95% is normal.

Adolescents (13-18 Years)

Normal vital signs are Pulse 100-180 beats per minute, Respirations 30-60 breaths per minute, SPO2 85-95% is normal.
